In 2023, Solomon Group produced two milestone events for the National WWII Museum in New Orleans: the Grand Opening of the Liberation Pavilion and the Congressional Medal of Honor Society’s Patriot Awards Gala. Together, these back-to-back events marked the completion of the museum’s 23-year expansion and celebrated the courage, resilience, and sacrifice of the Greatest Generation.
A Landmark Opening
The Liberation Pavilion represents the museum’s final permanent exhibit — its 15th pavilion produced in collaboration with Solomon Group over the course of a 15-year partnership. The opening was attended by actor Tom Hanks, along with 40 WWII veterans, Holocaust survivors, and Home Front workers, underscoring the emotional and cultural significance of the occasion.
Honoring Heroes
That same week, Solomon Group also produced the Congressional Medal of Honor Society’s Patriot Awards Gala, the largest annual gathering of Medal of Honor Recipients. The event provided opportunities for Recipients to reunite, share their stories, and inspire local students, veterans, active-duty service members, and community members.
A Long-Term Partnership
The Liberation Pavilion capped a $400M campus expansion that has transformed the National WWII Museum from a single building into a seven-pavilion, six-acre cultural destination. Solomon Group has been privileged to play a central role in this journey — providing both live event production and experiential technology expertise to help the museum bring history to life in increasingly innovative ways.
Why It Matters
These events were not only celebrations of history, but also defining cultural moments for the museum and the city of New Orleans. For Solomon Group, they exemplify our ability to serve as a strategic production partner: delivering experiences that honor legacy, engage audiences, and mark milestones with the dignity and impact they deserve.
