TTU Centennial Gala

In April of 2023, Texas Technical University (Go Red Raiders!) commemorated a monumental milestone: one century of academic and cultural contributions. The University hosted its Centennial Gala, spotlighted by a stellar performance from Little Big Town and a stunning event setting design by Solomon Group. In 2019, The result? A dazzling night that mirrored a century's worth of excellence and innovation.

Guests of the Gala were greeted into the United Supermarkets Arena by 1,800 sqft of custom red carpeted stairs, leading through the Gala entrance experience.

As guests walked into the intimate reception hall, strung with black velour drape, mood uplighting, and 1,000 ft of string lighting, they knew they were in for an unforgettable night. Solomon Group draped around the perimeter of the Arena's upper concourse. Unbeknownst to them, behind those drapes, was something they never would have expected to see on a basketball court.

When the clock struck 7pm, the curtains were drawn back and guests were surprised with a complete transformation of the arena - no longer a university basketball court but an immersive, illuminated dazzling Gala experience.

Solomon Group had completely covered the arena’s bleachers with drape, creating a pitch-black environment which we adorned with 8 illuminated arches that spanned 50ft wide and rose up to 40 ft at their apex, 124 mirrored banquet tables that reflected the light in all directions, and a stunning, custom, 20ft wide multi-tiered orb chandelier centerpiece. The result was a crowd of awe-stricken alumni, donors, students, and friends of the University who couldn't believe their Arena became a stunning event venue overnight.
