When the NFL Draft moved to Chicago for the first time in over 50 years, the league engaged C3 Presents to transform the city’s Grant Park into “Draft Town.”
After successfully partnering with Solomon Group to bring Perry's Stage to life at Lollapalooza, C3 drafted our team to provide full design and production services for Selection Square, a massive tent structure which serves as the focal point at the three-day NFL fan festival.
Fans who win tickets to the venue can sit in comfortably and view the draft live, which is simulcast on custom, large-scale LED displays. Selection Square is also where draft picks are physically submitted to the league by team representatives who sit in a special area near the stage. Former NFL greats serve as hosts at the venue, where newly drafted players are immediately whisked for interviews and media appearances.
For two years, Solomon Group has supplied full design and production services for Selection Square, including lighting, LED, audio and media server operations. Our team also provided custom scenic fabrication, including backdrops, the head and team table areas and large-format printed graphics.
In 2015, Solomon Group also supplied custom fabrication and graphics services for “The Huddle” Social Media Command Center. In 2016, our team designed and fabricated the NFL logo shield and a custom, LED “Draft Town” sign which were affixed atop the festival’s entrance structure. In 2019, our team fabricated a massive NFL logo shield that was affixed to adjoining bridge and was visible during both the day and night times.
Day three of the draft was held live at Selection Square, with both ESPN and NFL Network broadcasting from venues that were designed and produced by Solomon Group.
