Making Scents of an Iconic Experience: Solomon Group Reinvents World of Coca-Cola's Scent Discovery

Solomon Group recently completed the all-new Scent Discovery experience at Atlanta’s World of Coca-Cola. This revamped interactive exhibit promises to engage visitors with a unique sensory experience.

Coca-Cola, amid extensive renovations of their flagship brand home, the World of Coca-Cola, sought out Solomon Group to reimagine their existing Scent Discovery exhibit. Our project development team, led by Chief Experience Officer, Craig Connor, and Executive Project Director, Erich Fox, worked closely with Coca-Cola creatives early on – fleshing out the experience and mapping, scheduling, and budgeting the path forward. To conceptualize and design the exhibit & media, Solomon Group called upon our cutting-edge exhibit design partners at Local Projects. Other SGxLP collaborations include Planet Word and the upcoming Louisiana Civil Rights Museum and Columbus Museum.

With just four months to bring Scent Discovery to life, our dedicated Solomon NEXT technologists and Solomon HERE fabricators embraced the mission wholeheartedly, diving deep into technical design, A/V design, and collaborating on the build for the first project prototypes. We got to work testing different ways to ensure the pristine, crisp design had the durability to withstand the enthusiasm of thousands of monthly visitors, of all ages.

As of April 2023, visitors to the World of Coca-Cola can embark on an olfactory odyssey, beginning in the Scent Library. Here, they are introduced to a spectrum of scent categories, including citrus, fruity, floral, woody, and spicy. Guided by their preferred scent profiles, guests will have the opportunity to discover new beverage favorites from around the globe.
