Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience
Elvis Presley. Oprah Winfrey. Morgan Freeman. Tennessee Williams. Mississippi has produced some of the world’s most influential artists, performers, and storytellers. The Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience — known as THE MAX — was created to honor their legacies while inspiring future generations of creators.
Located in Meridian, the museum offers a vivid and immersive journey into the state’s artistic contributions. At its heart is a dramatic two-story rotunda that serves as the Mississippi Hall of Fame, celebrating over a hundred native legends across music, film, literature, and the visual arts.
Celebrating a State’s Cultural Legacy
Solomon Group collaborated with exhibit designers Gallagher & Associates to help realize the museum’s vision. Our role spanned fabrication, AV integration, lighting, and graphics production, ensuring that every detail — from immersive environments to artifact displays — reflected the richness of Mississippi’s cultural story. In total, our team carefully mounted and installed more than 180 artifacts, blending historic preservation with cutting-edge media experiences.
Impact
Since opening, THE MAX has become both a cultural anchor for Meridian and a statewide point of pride. Visitors are able to step inside the stories of Mississippi’s most celebrated artists, experiencing their impact in a way that feels both intimate and larger-than-life.
By integrating advanced AV systems, custom scenic elements, and meticulous artifact care, Solomon Group helped THE MAX become more than a museum — it’s now a living tribute to Mississippi’s enduring influence on the arts.
